Fresh or dried, Apricot has traditionally been viewed by alternative medicine as a health and beauty food, and given it’s high content of betacarotene, a powerful antioxidant.

Its seeds are abundant with Vitamin B17, known as Laetrile, which has been proposed by promoters of phytotherapy as an alternative treatment for cancer, although this claim has not been officially accepted, several countries use it for therapeutic purposes.
